Mathematics

The teaching and learning experiences that the students engage in deal with a wide range of concepts.

The Mathematics curriculum taught at Our Lady of the Rosary, following the NSW Board of Studies Mathematics K-6 syllabus, actively involves the students with the use of a wide variety of materials and equipment.

These concepts are organised into the five content strands of Number, Patterns and Algebra, Data, Measurement and Space and Geometry. As well as learning mathematical ideas and skills, students learn to work mathematically by posing questions, communicating, reasoning and reflecting in order to explore the use of mathematics in our everyday lives and in order to apply mathematics to solve problems.
